☎️ Can clients hear the smile in your voice?
Homestead Law is looking for the right person to join our small, hardworking team as a full-time receptionist in Sherwood Park.
You’re the first voice clients hear and the first impression they have of our firm. Whether someone is excited about buying a home or feeling overwhelmed, you’ll offer personal attention, help them feel calmer, and make them feel like part of the Homestead Law family.
Read our online reviews. See what clients say about our team and how we make them feel. Would they say those same things about you?
Our phones ring - a lot. Documents arrive and leave by courier. Clients walk through the door needing your attention. You’ll help keep it all moving while making people feel welcome.
You might be our kind of person if:
- You can juggle interruptions without losing your warmth. You can be on the phone, accept documents, and still greet the client who just walked in with a welcoming smile.
- You care about details, details, details. Names, dates, appointments, and messages deserve careful attention. You take the time to pronounce names correctly and ask when you’re unsure.
- You understand that words matter. When the lawyer gives you a message to pass on, you relay it word for word. Even a small wording change can change the meaning.
- You follow through. You keep track of tasks, deliver messages promptly, and finish what you start - even after an interruption.
- You use good judgment. You know when to help directly and when to involve another team member.
- You pitch in. We share the everyday jobs that keep a small office running, including dishes, taking out garbage, and keeping shared spaces tidy.
Confidentiality is non-negotiable. What you learn through your work stays confidential - no casual stories, no sharing with friends or family, and no discussing files where others can overhear. You verify who you’re speaking with and whether they’re authorized to receive information before sharing any file details. “Joe” on the phone isn’t automatically the Joe whose call you were expecting. When you’re unsure, you check before you speak.
Your work will include welcoming clients, answering calls, coordinating appointments, handling correspondence, and organizing incoming and outgoing courier documents.
Law office experience is an asset. We’re also happy to train someone with strong client service skills, careful work habits, and a willingness to learn.
Free parking is available at the far end of the lot; we leave the closer spaces for our clients.
Honesty. Integrity. Hard Work. If those values sound like you - and you bring a down-to-earth attitude and a sense of humour - we’d like to meet you.
Send your résumé and a short note about why you’d be a good fit to accounting@homesteadlaw.ca
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Applications remain open until we find the right person.
